Evarina - Bantu Collection

The idea of Bantu Collections was born during my second year at the University of Dar es Salaam, where I was studying for my Bachelor’s degree. Being deeply in love with fashion, I always enjoyed wearing new outfits especially African prints. Every time I wore something vibrant and unique to class, people would compliment my style.

That’s when it clicked why not start designing and selling these pieces to others who loved African-inspired fashion as much as I did?

Despite the compliments, I realized that many tailors couldn’t bring my designs to life the way I envisioned. So, I decided to teach myself how to sew. With no sewing machine of my own, I borrowed one from a friend’s mother and paid a small fee every month until I could afford mine.

Starting Bantu Collections wasn’t easy. The journey came with many challenges sleepless nights, exhaustion, and moments of doubt. There were times I wondered if I would make it or if the dream was too big to achieve.

But through it all, my faith kept me going. Knowing that God had my back, and with His grace and favor, I found the strength to keep building this brand.

Today, Bantu Collections stands as a celebration of African heritage, creativity, and resilience — blending modern fashion with traditional African identity. Every piece we create carries a story of passion, purpose, and pride.
